Richard Shulberg (Citizen Kafka) RIP

Post by Darrell Urbien »

I was saddened to hear about the recent passing of Richard Shulberg (of Citizen Kafka and Wretched Refuse String Band fame). I didn't know him from either of those exploits, however - I knew him as the co-host of the amazing radio program The Secret Museum of the Air, which often featured steel guitar music from all over the world.

Here's an NPR story on Shulberg.

Me too; I did a few gigs with the Citizen, and recently realized that I don't remember a lot about them because I was trying so hard to play while laughing at the same time. On May 23rd, there will be a tribute from 9:30 to midnight on WBAI FM, 99.5 in the NY area and on line at wbai.org..
