Could be Paul or Mike Johnson. Brett Resnick is her touring steel player.

countrydiscoghraphy lists Junior Knight.
I can't verify if it's correct.

Good song, first time I have ever heard it. Junior Knight could be a likely possibility because this was way before Kacey hit it big and she was more of a “local” in Texas.

I did some googling, and Kacey made three self-produced Indie albums in Texas, she was barely a teenager for the first one in the early 2000’s. This song was on her third Indie album. That being the case, online information for credits are going to be sketchy.

The album came out in 2007 when she was 19. Apparently the CD has become a collector’s item, the prices online are pretty steep. It was another six years before her first record on a major label came out (Same Trailer Different Park) which made a big splash, winning a Grammy for Best Country Album, and was the first time most of us became aware of her.

Gotta hand it to Kacey Musgraves - she’s been out there toiling in the music trenches for a long time - once she hit it big she
became real big. But she wasn’t an overnight sensation, she paid her dues.

Thanks Mark and Marco. I would have never guessed it was Junior (thought it would be a Nashville studio plager). But, Junior is a great player and I love his playing.
