Is this Valco string-through pickup half-dead?

Post by Joseph Lazo »

The lowest three strings on my string-though pickup guitar aren't being amplified. The three trebles are fine, but there's no sound from the lowest 3. This just started tonight when I plugged in. Anyone know what might be going on?

Most of those units have two coils … one for the 3 Lo strings : one for the 3 Hi strings

A few had a coil for each string …

Anyway … sounds like your Lo coil is shorting …

I hear Tom Brantley will rebuild those bobbins/coils …

I'll also recommend Tom Brantley, excellent work, I've used him twice so far.
